Collective Bargaining Resource

Collective Bargaining ResourceA new resource is now available to help workplaces with collective bargaining by providing support for managing employment relationships in many different circumstances.  It has been developed by the Department of Labour with input from employers, unions and community groups.
The resource gives a comprehensive introduction to collective bargaining as well as guidelines about what to do before, during and after negotiations. It also contains useful information, templates and training tools for a range of situations that may arise in the workplace.
The resource emphasises preparation, communication and engagement in good faith negotiations, and includes:
• information about good faith under the Employment Relations Act 2000
• techniques for managing constructive conversations in the workplace
• ideas for solving problems
• training templates including presentations about bargaining
• models for de-briefing and evaluating the bargaining process.

Employment Agreement Builder - Department of Labour

Employment Agreement Builder - Department of LabourThe Employment Agreement Builder can help you to put together a draft employment agreement for your employee. It clearly shows you which clauses are compulsory, which clauses reflect minimum conditions that the employee is entitled to regardless of their inclusion in their employment agreement, and which clauses can be included voluntarily to meet the needs of you and your employee.
The key to this information is to use it as a starting point to establish conditions that best suit your particular relationship and the employment agreement.
